Tampa, Fla., (970 WFLA) – The Florida Highway Patrol is committed to promoting safety for motorists and pedestrians and to provide a deterrent for those who violate laws that regulate and control motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
In furtherance of these safety initiatives, Troop K – Land O’ Lakes Sub-District will hold a multi-county DUI Wolfpack Operation beginning at 11:00 PM on Thursday April 13,, to Friday, April 14, at 4:00 AM.The Wolfpack Operation will take place in Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough and Polk Counties. The WolfpackOperation will focus on SR-589 (Suncoast Parkway and Veterans Expressway), SR-568 Veterans Expressway and SR-570 (Polk Parkway).
Everyone is reminded to not Drink & Drive and plan in advance for events where alcoholic beverages are consumed by utilizing designated drivers, taxi services or hold events where driving is not necessary.
Should motorists encounter impaired drivers they are urged to contact the FHP by calling *FHP (*347).
