Brooksville, Fla. (970 WFLA)- The Weeki-Wachee fire has burned 1100 acres in Hernando County.
The Florida Forest Service along with firefighters from Hernando County Fire and Rescue are working on putting out the blaze at the Weeki- Wachee Wildlife Preserve off of Shoal Line Boulevard. The fire is now 75 percent contained.
The fire is burning several miles north of the Pasco county line, the wind has blown some of the smoke from the fire into areas of north Pasco County.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office is requesting, on behalf of Hernando County Fire Rescue, for anyone flying drones in the area of the brush fire along Shoal Line Boulevard to please refrain from doing so immediately.
