Storms Moving Through Bay Area

8:30 a.m. Between 5,000 and 6,000 people without power from Pinellas to Polk counties. 

7:53 a.m. Special marine warning for the Gulf coast until 8:30 a.m. 

7:33 a.m. A severe thunderstorm warning issued for southern Polk county until 8:00 this morning. 

7:30 a.m.  More than 4,000 people are without power in the Duke Energy and TECO service areas, after this morning's weather, mostly in Pinellas and Polk counties. 


5:45 a.m. National Weather Service says storm no longer severe, but can still produce small hail and winds over parts of Pinellas and Hillsborough. 

5:40 a.m. Special marine warning extended south to Bonita Beach, includes Gulf coast and Tampa Bay until 6:45 a.m. 

5:13 a.m. Severe thunderstorm warning for southern Pinellas and southwest Hillsborough until 5:45 a.m. including Largo, Pinellas Park, Seminole, St. Petersburg, St. Pete Beach, Tierra Verde, Feather Sound, Gulfport, South Pasadena and Egmont Key.

4:15 a.m. Special marine warning for Gulf Coast and Tampa Bay waters until 5:45 a.m. 

4:00 a.m.  Severe thunderstorm warning for southern Citrus and NW Hernando until 4:30 a.m. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED 7 MILES SOUTH OF HOMOSASSA, OR 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF HOMOSASSA SPRINGS, MOVING EASTAT 40 MPH.HAZARD...60 MPH WIND GUSTS AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL. 

3:12 a.m. Special Marine Warning issued from Englewood to the Suwannee River along the Gulf Coast until 4:15 a.m. 

12:55 a.m.  Tornado Watch issued, includes Citrus, Hernando and Pasco Counties in our area, until 8:00 a.m.
