Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Police have made an arrest in the death of a motorcycle rider at Waters and Edison. Officers say thirty six year-old Shawn Eric Lentz is the person responsible for last month's death of 29 year-old Jose Mcella.
Police say Lentz turned his pickup truck into the path of Mcella's motorcycle. The motorcycle smashed into the truck, injuring Mcella. Mcella died a short time later at the hospital.
Police say Lentz left his truck at the scene and took off. Lentz first told officers his pickup truck had been stolen. A witness was later located who identified Lentz as the driver of the truck in the crash. Lentz was then arrested.
Lentz is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death and filing a false report of a crime.
