Not Guilty for ExHillsborough School Bus Driver

Lenoir Sainfamin is not guilty.

The former Hillsborough School bus driver was in court Friday for a non-jury trial on a careless driving charge stemming from an Odessa bus crash.  But prosecutors never showed up.

The judge said there wasn't any evidence to convict Sainfamin, so he declared him not guilty.

Sainfamin's attorney says the crash wasn't his client's fault and that the school district has too many old, faulty buses on the roads.

In September of 2015, 27 students from Bryant Elementary were on their way home from school when the bus, driven by Sainfamin, rounded a corner and veered into a pond, then flipped over.  The students suffered minor injuries.
