Three Arrested For Smash & Grab Vehicle Burglaries

Clearwater, Fla. (970 WFLA)- Three people have been arrested in connection to several smash and grab vehicle robberies.

Pasco deputies  were tracking a stolen cell phone and alerted Pinellas deputies that the suspects were in Pinellas.

The three were arrested soon after a victim reported that a vehicle burglary had just happened at the Oak Crest Preschool on East Lake Road.

Deputies found the suspect's van parked  near McMullen Booth Road and State Road 580.

When deputies approached,  the three jumped out of the van, and tried to run,  but with the help of K-Nine Officers,  were soon arrested.

They are identified as 22 year old Jorge Burleigh of Hollywood Fla, 18 year old Whitney Smith also from Hollywood Fla., and 38 year old Reginald Williams from Lauderdale Lakes.

Deputies say that inside the van,  they found valuables and stolen property  belonging to victims not only in Pasco and Pinellas but from other Florida counties.

Smith and Williams are in the Pinellas County Jail.  Jorge Burleigh has not been booked into the jail yet, he was taken to the hospital first to get treatment for a K-Nine  bite .
