Two Injured After SUV Crash Guns & Drugs Found Inside

New Port Richey,Fla. (970 WFLA)- When New Port Richey Police tried to pull over  a white 2015 Range Rover for dark tinted windows, the Range Rover  accelerated at a high rate of speed.   The Range Rover continued east on Louisiana Avenue approaching Carob Drive, which is a t-intersection.

The Range Rover then hit a grey Toyota SUV, in the driveway of a home as the residents were attempting to enter their car.   A woman who lives at the address was injured,  suffering non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Range Rover and sole occupant, 27 year old Lionell Bates,  ran from the scene. Bates was caught a short distance away from the scene.

Inside Bates SUV, police found narcotics, a handgun, ammunition and cash.

The Florida Highway Patrol assisted by investigating the crash and they also determined the Range Rover has been listed stolen out of North Carolina since February of 2015.   Additional charges are pending from FHP.
