TAMPA (970 WFLA) -- Forbes magazine is out with its annual list of the world's billionaires. and one out of every 40 is a Floridian.
Out of 2,043 who made the Forbes list, 51 call the Sunshine State home. They include Tampa's Edward DeBartolo Junior, with net worth listed at $2.9 billion, as well as Kenneth Feld and the Feld family, which used to run the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. The Feld family's net worth estimated at $2.5 billion.
The richest Floridian on the Forbes list is Thomas Peterffy of Palm Beach. The Hungarian immigrant who helped develop electronic trading and now runs a discount brokerage. Peterffy's wealth is listed at $13.8 billion by Forbes. He used some of that money to back Donald Trump's presidential campaign last year, and is reportedly a member of the president's resort at Mar-a-Lago.
