TECO's Manatee Viewing Center Celebrates 30 Years

Apollo Beach, Fla. (970 WFLA)-If it’s in your nature to enjoy yourself, we humbly suggest you enjoy yourself in our nature – Tampa Electric’s Manatee Viewing Center – today, March 16, from 10 am to 5 pm.

The Tampa Electric Manatee Viewing Center is celebrating its 30th season as a showcase of free, fun, environmental education, along with the fact that they've  welcomed more than 5 million visitors since it opened in 1986.

When the water temperature of Tampa Bay is 68 degrees or colder, manatees flock to the warm-water discharge canal near Big Bend Power Station.
