According to the FHP, around 1 Saturday morning, 18 year-old Donavan Patterson was driving south on McMullen Booth Road, when he failed to stop for the red light at Curlew Road striking a pick-up truck, which overturned as both vehicles ended up in the southeast section of the intersection.
Patterson's passenger, 18 year-old Jocelyn Schirmer was pronounced dead at the scene, two other female passengers are in critical condition. The driver of the pick-up, 22 year-old Dalton Cox is in serious condition. The crash closed the road for several hours but has since been reopened.
The FHP reports that Patterson was under the influence when the accident occurred.
