DAYTONA BEACH, FL (970 WFLA) -- This is not the time to quote that line about being "wasted away."
Singer Jimmy Buffett has started construction on a retirement community in the Daytona Beach area called "Latitude Margaritaville." It's described as an "active adult community" for Parrotheads 55 and older, with walkable neighborhoods, a fitness center and spa, live entertainment and a private beach club.
Buffett's plans call for nearly seven thousand homes with prices starting in the $200,000 range.
The news about Latitude Margaritaville leaves many unanswered questions, including whether one can get a cheeseburger in Buffett's paradise, find pink crustaceans and get a mustache shaved pencil-thin, or whether this is the place to go when the volcano blows.
