Mulberry, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A man died after firefighters pulled him from a burning home in Mulberry early Sunday.
Polk County Fire Rescue arrived at the home in Spring Hill Estates around 12:40 a.m. to see a woman standing outside the home trying to fight the flames with a garden hose. Inside, rescuers found Eugene Youmans, 55, and attempted life-saving measures as they took him to South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City.
He was pronounced dead at 1:44 a.m. The Polk County Sheriff's Office says that it will conduct a death investagation and the Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations will work to determine the cause.
