HCSO Detectives Arrest Brandon Man For Armed Robbery

Brandon, Fla. (970 WFLA)- Hillsborough Deputies have  arrested a man  who they say, robbed a man at gunpoint while he was withdrawing money from the Suncoast Credit Union ATM at 1370 Oakfield Drive in Brandon, February 25th.   

According to the Hillsborough Sheriff's Office 20 year old Estevan Lerma of Brandon was taken into custody this morning.   Lerma is charged with Robbery with a Weapon ($300 or more).

 It was  8:10 p.m., when the suspect  approached the victim,  brandishing  a silver, 40 caliber handgun and demanded the victim's money.   After the suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash, the victim attempted to take possession of the firearm. During the struggle, the weapon was discharged. The suspect then fled westbound on foot.  The unidentified victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 5'10"-6', 165-185, 20-25 years of age. Last seen wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
