St. Petersburg, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-St. Pete Democratic Congressman Charlie Crist is saying goodbye to married life. The former governor filed papers today to divorce his wife.
It's been less than nine years since Crist and Carole Rome got married while he was serving as governor. Crist was the Republican governor at the time.
Rome was a New York socialite and business woman when Charlie proposed back in 2008. Crist was the first Florida Governor in 42 years to be married while in office.
Crist has been married once before, but divorced his former college sweetheart less than a year after that ceremony.
