TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) – A suspected drunk driver is to blame for a wrong way crash on I-75 early Sunday morning.
State troopers said the collision happened shortly before 2 a.m. Gregg Richardson, 57, is accused of driving southbound in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 236.
Richardson's SUV collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 26-year old Juan Garcia.Richardson was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while Garcia was treated for minor injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor, but charges are pending against Richardson.
