It's been a great year for twenty one pilots. The duo -- comprised of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun -- had several successful chart-toppjng singles, went on tour twice, and even performed during the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Festival back in the fall. All of this has led them to winning the Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song "Stressed Out." And the guys celebrated with a no pants dance -- literally.
After it was announced that the guys had won their Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Grammy, they stood up, took off their pants, and proceeded to the stage to make their acceptance speech ... in their underwear.
By the way, they are both boxer briefs kind of guys, incase you were wondering.
When Tyler and Josh got to the stage to accept their Grammy, Tyler told everyone the story of what they would do if they actually one a Grammy one day. And, yes, it entailed no pants:
"This story, it starts in Columbus, Ohio, it was a few years ago and it was before Josh and I were able to make money playing music. I called him up, and I said, 'Hey Josh, want to come over to my rental house and watch the Grammys? As we were watching, we noticed every single one of us was in our underwear, and seriously, Josh said to me, and we were no one at the time, he turned to me and he said, 'If we ever go to the Grammys, if we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this.'"
"Stressed Out" is from twenty one pilots' 2015 album Burrlyface, and was extremely successful for the guys. The track hit No. 1 on the US Adult Top 40, US Hot Rock Songs, US Mainstream Top 40 charts, and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track has also earned the guys several iHeartRadio Music Awards nominations, including Song of the Year. The guys are also up for Best Duo/Group of the Year, Alternative Rock Song of the Year (for "Ride" and "Heathens"), Alternative Rock Artist of the Year, Best Lyrics, Best Song from a Movie, and Best Music Video (for "Heathens"), and Best Fan Army.
