Home Health Aide Helped Herself

St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA)- A home health aide assigned to helping a 95 year old woman is in trouble for helping herself to the elderly woman's bank account.  

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Department says 41 year old Meyonta Johnson was supposed to caring for Doris Smith.  Instead police say she allegedly stole the woman's ATM card and used it to withdraw around $2500 from Smith's Regions Bank account.  

Detectives say Johnson used the money to make several car  payments. 

 Johnson is charged with one count of grand theft from a person 65 years of age or older.
