St. Pete Detectives Still Trying To Solve 35-year-old Murder Case

It happened January 23rd, 1982.

Joseph Warner drove an armored truck for Brinks and was making a pickup at Tyrone Square Mall in St. Pete.

Police say two men dressed as Miami Elevator repairmen robbed and fatally shot Warner, then escaped in a van and boat rented using a fake Canadian drivers license.

35 years later, Brinks is offering a $10,000 reward fir information leading to arrests in this case and St. pete detectives have been working with investigators in the northeast, Canada and beyond.

Jim Previtera of the St. Pete Police Department says Warner left behind five sons and a wife who is now 79-years-old and lives in Tampa.  He says detectives have one thing in their favor--DNA and fingerprint technology that didn't exist in 1982 and that he hopes will help solve this case.
