A Florida dad, Jorge Ignacio Aponte-Gonzalez, punched a 63-year-old umpire at his son's high school baseball game in Kissimmee last month, and the video has now gone viral.
The incident happened after his son began to argue with the umpire during the game. The umpire asked the player to compose himself, and the father got upset after they went back and forth.
The suspect then walked over to the umpire, and launched a punch from behind, knocking him to the ground.
According to Osceola County Sheriff Marco Lopez, the victim is a military veteran who dedicates his time to baseball and kids.
The suspect told arresting officers that he was "defending his kid" and showed no remorse for his actions. The umpire wants his assailant to be prosecuted so other youth referees and umpires don’t face similar violence.
