Here's How to Claim Your Share of the $725 Million Facebook Settlement

Facebook's parent company, Meta, has agreed to pay $725 million after a class-action lawsuit was brought against them over user data privacy concerns.

The lawsuit alleged multiple breaches of user data privacy, including allegations that a Facebook app developer shared user data with Cambridge Analytica.

Users who were on Facebook in the US between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, may be eligible for a cash payment.

Claim forms must be submitted by August 25, 2023, either electronically or by mail.

Claimants must provide basic information about their Facebook profile, including their email, phone number, and username.

Payment can be received through various platforms such as prepaid cards, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or direct deposit.

The amount of individual payouts will depend on how many people submit valid claims and how long they were Facebook users during the class period.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for September 7, and eligible funds won't be released until after the court approves the settlement.
