A South Florida police officer who died ten days ago was honored by fellow members of law enforcement on Tuesday.
Officers from several different police agencies showed up at a memorial for Boynton Beach Police Officer Dennis Castro, who died in a single-car crash while off-duty.
The 14-year veteran of the department was a traffic homicide investigator and a member of the SWAT Team and DUI Task Force.
The 37-year old earned Officer of the Month several times and was chosen Officer of the Year in 2021 by the Palm Beach County Commission Victim Services department.
Castro leaves behind a wife and two children.
