Arcadia, FL - A man and woman have been arrested after deputies found multiple dead and malnourished animals inside their DeSoto County home.
The DeSoto County Sheriff's Office reports 21-year-old Samuel Richards and 21-year-old Margaret Hornberger were arrested after deputies responded to their home on SW Hampshire Avenue for an animal cruelty investigation.
According to investigators, deputies found multiple dead and malnourished animals, multiple bags of food, and feces and urine inside the Arcadia home.
Richards and Hornberger were arrested on multiple charges of animal neglect and cruelty.
The surviving animals were taken by DeSoto County Animal Control for treatment.
