Here is What's Happening in Tampa Bay This Weekend

It's supposed to be a beautiful (and hot) summer weekend here in Tampa Bay, and many of us are itching to get out and find something to do. We've got you covered with our list of weekend events!

If the heat is a bit too much for you, Sharon Wynne of Tampa Bay Times put together a list of More than 15 places to stay cool in Tampa Bay for $15 or less.

But if you ARE wanting to get out of the house, here are a few things to do!

Time to dress up like your favorite comic character and come out for this annual convention with photo ops with stars including William Shatner (" Star Trek"), James "Murr" Murray (" Impractical Jokers"), RJ Mitte (" Breaking Bad"), Ross Marquand (" Walking Dead") and more.

Tampa Fringe Festival

Are you looking for an offbeat theater experience? Something you've never experienced before? The Tampa Fringe Festival kicked off on Thursday and runs until Aug. 7th. The festival features indie performances from improv to burlesque and shows for kids. This year's festival has a Peace, Love, Fringe! theme and features 23 companies performing nearly 100 shows during 10 days. Individual tickets and packages, as well as a full schedule of shows, are available at tampafringe.org  

Tampa Bay Rays Game

Tampa Bay Rays: The Rays face the Cleveland Guardians this weekend, and we love the giveaways!

  • All fans get a free Brett Phillips Devil Rays basketball jersey while supplies last. 1:10 p.m. Saturday.
  • Fans 14 and younger get a free Brandon Lowe cereal bowl and cup set while supplies last. 1:40 p.m. Sunday.

Family Fun Day at the Venice Art Center

This is a FREE family event with FREE food and drinks, FREE face painting, and many, many "under the sea" art projects. You will also have the opportunity to meet a LIVE mermaid! Saturday from 10am - 1pm.

Jazz Under The Trees

For a $40 donation to the Glover School, you and your family can enjoy some jazz music and a picnic under the trees. The price includes a meal for the entire family. Chicken, ribs, and baked beans. Saturday at 10am.
