Lobster Mini-Season Begins At Midnight!

The clock is ticking toward Lobster mini-season, beginning at midnight. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Officer Jason Rafter says there are dozens of rules to follow during this two-day recreational season. Lobsters must be measured correctly-the hard part of the shell must be greater than three inches, divers can only get six per person in Monroe County and Biscayne National Park, it's twelve per person for the rest of Florida. All boats must be equipped with proper life vests and dive flags. Anyone participating must have a saltwater fishing license and spiny lobster permit. The regular season begins August 6th and ends March 31st.
