Cape Coral, FL - A family vacationing in Southwest Florida got a surprise when they witnessed multiple naked men in the pool of a home across the canal from their vacation rental.

The family, visiting from Zephyrhills, has 6 children between the ages of 4 and 14 who noticed the naked men last Monday.

One of the children, 14 year old Haylie Mooneyham, spoke to NBC 2 News about the incident, telling the outlet, “it was always very awkward. I was just in the pool and I had my cousin, she was in there with me and she had said, ‘oh my gosh. I see a butt’ and I was like ‘what do you mean?’ And I had looked over and I didn’t see a butt, that’s for sure.”

Mooneyham's 11-year-old cousin Kaitlyn Loehr told NBC 2 News, “we were just hanging out by the pool and he just started stripping and getting into the pool. I was honestly very shocked. I didn’t know what to think.”

The family called police when one of the men waved at a 12-year-old girl completely naked.

Officers with the Cape Coral police department arrived at the home on Wednesday.

A woman answered the door and told officers they were visiting from Switzerland and didn’t know being naked in the pool area of the home is considered indecent exposure.

According to NBC 2 News, public nudity is legal in most of Switzerland, with a few exceptions.

The outlet says in Southwest Florida, public nudity could be considered a misdemeanor for the first offense followed by a third-degree felony for the second offense.
