Miami, FL - A 6th grader has been arrested after he threatened to kill 17 of his classmates at a South Florida religious private school.
The unidentified 12-year-old is a student at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School, an Archdiocese of Miami school, located near the East Little Havana and Brickell neighborhoods.
Police arrested the student on Monday and took him to the Miami-Dade County Juvenile Services Department.
According to police, the student was playing Xbox when he allegedly told other players he wanted to get a gun and shoot kids in his classroom or beat them with brass knuckles.
Detectives found published videos on Snapchat and TikTok showing “a bully” getting shot, with the student mentioning that “the whole class is scared.”
Investigators also found a drawing the boy had in his locker showing a person bleeding from the face and chest.
Circuit Judge Scott M. Bernstein ordered a psychological evaluation and placed the boy under house arrest with an electronic monitor.
Judge Bernstein ordered the student to stay away from using the internet and to abstain from using social media and playing Xbox.
The student is facing a second-degree felony charge of written threats to conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism.
