LAKELAND -- The Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested a woman who flipped out over her fast-food order, going behind the counter and flinging cups and dispensers at McDonald's staff.
Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd says 22-year-old Tianis Jones of Lakeland went into the McDonald's at U.S. 92 and Combee Road to pick up her online order of "a fish filet, a Happy Meal with a chocolate shake, a sweet tea, and a Sprite." He says some of the items got mixed up, and staff asked Jones to pull up to a window as they fixed it. Instead of pulling up, she parked and went inside. "The longer she talked, the madder she got...and she dialed 911 and complained about her order," Judd said, referencing a silent surveillance video.
Jones knocked dispensers off the counter, then went behind the counter and tossed cups on the floor and at employees. A woman identified as her sister restrained her. "On the way out of the store, after announcing she was five months pregnant, (Jones) pulled up her shirt and showed her stomach, then twerked her way out," Judd said.
A recording of Jones' 911 call captures her yelling at staff and her sister, telling them she was calling the police and insisting, "I want my money. They're trying to cheat me out of my money," and insisting she didn't hit anybody.
Judd says Jones' actions constituted burglary and assault, which add up to a first-degree felony. She's also charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
