OLDSMAR -- A horse trainer at Tampa Bay Downs has died after getting infected with bacteria on a trip to the beach.

The race track says in a news release that Robert "Bobby" Raymond went to Mobbly Beach Park in Oldsmar last Wednesday and waded into the water, getting infected through a small cut on his leg.

He went in to work Thursday, but the leg became inflamed and he started shivering Friday morning. Raymond was taken to Mease Countryside Hospital where he died early Sunday morning at age 74. Funeral arrangements are pending.
