Chaz Stevens, a Florida activist, is asking public school superintendents throughout the state to "immediately remove the Bible from the classroom, library, and any instructional material."
The 57-year-old from Deerfield Beach argues that the bible is not age-appropriate as it includes "casual" references to murder, adultery, sexual immorality, and fornication.
In his petition, Stevens cited a bill put into law last month by Gov. Ron DeSantis, which lets parents object to educational materials. He's asking that the bible be banned from 62 school districts.
According to NPR, It's not the first time Stevens has made waves for his activism. In 2015, he petitioned 11 South Florida municipalities to either drop the prayer that opens their city commission meetings or let him lead a prayer in the name of Satan.
