Baby formula bandit hits South Florida Publix four times in two months

Police in South Florida are searching for a baby formula bandit who struck the same Publix four times in the last two months.

The Publix, located at 18409 Miramar Parkway, was robbed by the same man who stole baby formula in March and April.

According to Miramar Police Detective Tiffany Roy the man is “putting them in a shopping cart and walking out of the store.”

Roy says the amount of formula the man has stolen has led to questions about why he’s stealing it.

“I think the typical person might think he’s stealing it for his own child. He is not,” said Roy. “The amount he is stealing is a large amount that is not to feed his own child.”

Police believe the thief has also struck a different Publix in another county several times.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help to identify the man.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
