Over the weekend, MSNBC Host Tiffany Cross said that White Americans should “sit this out” as controversy persists around Will Smith slapping comedian Chris Rock.
TheGrio columnist Michael Harriot said on the program while being interviewed by Cross that the Academy Awards drama is about “how black people relate to each other” in a way that white people do not understand, “even though it happened to everybody [watching the ceremony].”
Actress Yvette Nicole Brown, who Cross also interviewed, said, “Some people use their words, some people use their hands. It is what it is. In the black community, we understand that”
That's when Cross interjected with her comments where she "put it in context for the white fellow countrymen as best she could.”
