Florida public defender facing DUI charges after arrest

A Florida public defender has been arrested on several DUI charges after allegedly causing multiple car crashes while intoxicated.

Authorities arrested 28-year-old Jalyn Delancy, a public defender in Miami Dade County, early Friday morning.

Delancy faces charges of driving under the influence, DUI damage to property or person, and criminal fleeing and eluding.

According to police, Delancy refused to take a sobriety and breathalyzer test following the accidents and smelled of alcohol.

She was arrested in North Miami.
