Florida Divers Pull 62 E-Scooters From Hillsborough River in Tampa Bay

Fishing for... scooters? That's what a team of more than a dozen divers were doing in the Hillsborough River on Tuesday as they pulled up an abundance of e-scooters and SO many more items from Tampa waters.

According to Malique Rankin on 10 Tampa Bay, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, a nonprofit organization, coordinated the cleanup with Tampa Police, FWC, Adventure Outfitters, Tampa Parks, Rec, and the Illuminate Group to clean the river.

Malique shared a series of tweets throughout the day, giving a rundown of what was happening as divers discovered not only a total of 62 e-scooters but also traffic cones, bicycles, chairs, and even a wheelchair.

Malique watched as they unloaded the scooters, and the number just kept climbing. In total, they unloaded 62 scooters.

Now, the real question is, why on earth were there 62 scooters in the Hillsborough River?
