A New Bill May Fine Sports Teams In Florida For Not Playing National Anthem

A new bill passed the Senate Commerce and Tourism Committee that would require professional sports teams in Florida to play the national anthem at the start of each team sporting event.

Sen. Joe Gruters says that even if another song follows the anthem, that is okay. But the sporting event MUST kick off with the national anthem.

If the team doesn't follow through with this, assuming that the bill passes, the Department of Economic Opportunity could issue fines.
