Hillsborough County commissioners said on Thursday that a 5-acre man-made lagoon in Wimauma can open to the public.
The Metro Development Group recently completed this inside the gated community of Southshore Bay.
Commissioners approved the request for this open to the public 7-0 after no residents of Southshore Bay spoke at a public hearing on Thursday.
The bodies of water carry the trademarked name of Metro Lagoons by Crystal Lagoons®, such as Epperson lagoon, which is currently open in Wesley Chapel.
