Fort Lauderdale Police have arrested an unidentified suspect who stole a U-Haul truck and crashed it into a car, fence and traffic light on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers received a report of a stolen U-Haul truck from the U-Haul Moving and Storage on W Broward Blvd just after 1PM.
An officer spotted the stolen U-Haul and called for backup, but before the officer could pull the truck over, the driver began driving erratically, travelling in the wrong direction, and striking a car; before losing control and crashing the U-Haul into a fence and traffic light.
The driver of the U-Haul was taken into custody and transported to Broward Health Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
The incident remains under investiation.
