Three Florida residents are getting high honors.
The women are being inducted into the Florida Women's Hall of Fame Thursday evening.
Barbara Nicklaus of North Palm Beach is the Chair and Co-Founder of the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation, along with her husband and golf legend Jack Nicklaus.
Beverly White Yeager of Palm Beach has received several presidential appointments. She is is the former Director of the Florida Department of State’s Cultural Affairs Division
Also getting the honor is Judge Virginia Covington of Tampa, who became the first Hispanic U.S. District Court Judge for the Middle District of Florida when she was appointed by President George W. Bush.
Governor DeSantis selected the inductees from a group of ten nominees.
The ceremony, hosted by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women, is being held in Tallahassee.
Among the speakers will be Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Canady and Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee.
