Miami's top cop is supposed to be getting grilled by the commission today but now commissioners are deciding what to do after Chief Avecedo writes a scathing memo to the mayor comparing some commission actions to Communist Cuba. Commissioner Monolo Reyes is proposing an outside investigation. Chief Acevedo's 8-page memo claims a majority of commissioners were interfering with an internal investigation into a Sergeant-At-Arms he relieved of duty. He also claims he's contacted the U-S Justice Department to review the city's internal affairs process and some questionable uses-of-force by officers.
