The City of West Palm Beach is hiring a full-time water lab technician, in an attempt to add oversight to its water quality.
This after a six-day water emergency earlier this year.
An advisory was issued for vulnerable populations back in May, after test samples showed the presence of elevated levels of a toxin linked to blue-green algae.
The Florida Department of Health is still investigating to see if the city gave notification about the issue to residents in a timely fashion.
The West Palm Beach City Commission has just approved funding to do the hiring.
