CLEARWATER -- Coastal cleanup day is a week from Saturday, but one Florida beach town is taking the concept citywide, next month.
Clearwater has taken part in the Coastal Cleanup for years. Now the city is scheduling a citywide event called the big
Cleanup next month. Volunteer coordinator Samantha Moullet says they're looking for hundreds of people to help out.
"We have about 300 volunteers already committed to this cleanup and we are hoping to get well above and beyond that," Moullet said to our Beyond the News podcast.
Small scale cleanups are scheduled the week of October 11th, ending in a massive cleanup in parks and beaches and downtown areas the following Saturday (16th).
