Broward Schools has responded to Governor DeSantis's deadline to repeal its mask mandate. The Broward County School Board says the state Board of Education doesn't have the authority to prevent districts from issuing mask mandates, and board chair Rosalind Osgood wants her day in court.
Normally when you are in a process like this, and you are sanctioned, or you are given a directive, or you are accused of not following the law, you get a measure of due process," said Osgood.
The Florida Department of Education has stated it will withhold compensation of those board members who voted to impose mask mandates.
