SANTA CATALINA ISLAND, California -- Matt Gaetz is a married man.
The Northwest Florida congressman went on Twitter to share photos taken by his bride, fiancée Ginger Luckey, and by Sergio Gor, who DJ'd and presided over the small ceremony. Gor used to be a staffer for Kentucky U.S. Senator Rand Paul. The wedding was first reported by Vanity Fair, which interviewed the congressman.
Gaetz and Luckey eloped to California's Catalina Island, where the wedding was held Saturday. Gaetz's Twitter account now describes him as "Florida man. Firebrand. America First. Happy husband."
The Panhandle Republican has been under a cloud because of a federal investigation tied to a former Seminole County Tax Collector. Joel Greenberg has pled guilty to six counts including sex trafficking of a child, and is cooperating with prosecutors.
