Honoring Coach Bowden: Flags Flying At Half-Staff As His Body Lies In Honor

Final farewells are underway for legendary Florida State University football coach Bobby Bowden.

His body will Lie in Honor at the Florida Historic Capitol Museum until 1 p.m. on Friday, and then Bowden will Lie in Repose from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Florida State's Moore Athletics Center at Doak Campbell Stadium.

A public funeral service is set for Saturday.

Governor DeSantis ordered flags be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday in Bowden's honor at state and local government buildings in Tallahassee.

The order applies to flags at the state Capitol, the Leon County Courthouse and Tallahassee City Hall.

Bobby Bowden died on Sunday at the age of 91 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
