Miami-Dade Students Head To "Summer 305" School

Today marks the start of Summer 305, Miami-Dade's summer school program which is 10 times larger this year, thanks to the COVID slide. Superintendent Alberto Carvalho says they have 62-thousand registered students attending in 179 schools. Students who are failing or fell behind have been asked to come, others can do so voluntarily. The school district is using 50-million in federal funding to pay for the program which includes free breakfast and lunch. Summer 305 runs today through August 20th. Broward's program begins next Monday.
