The Indian River County Sheriff's Office says a 54-year old man was swimming in the ocean near the Disney Resort in Vero Thursday morning, when he was bitten by a shark.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Officials say he was alert and stable at the time.
No word on what type of shark may have been involved.
