Miami-Dade marking Earth Day with the release of the 2nd Biscayne Bay report card. All regions of the Bay receiving a “fair” or “poor” score with nothing scoring in the "good" range. Chief Bay Officer Irela Bague says the biggest threats to the Bay remain population growth, dredging projects, loss of seagrass habit, elevated chlorophyll levels and carbon emissions. She says they're working on ways to replace failing storm water and wastewater systems by removing septic tanks in low lying areas prone to flooding.
