Demetri Sedita, Co-founder Of Green Gasparilla, joined AM Tampa Bay to discuss how he is one of two Tampa students among the 2020 International Young Eco-Hero Award winners.
Demetri talks about his project Green Gasparilla and shares his story on why he got started in it.
He raised awareness about Mardi Gras beads going into the Bay during the Gasparilla Pirate Festival and took action by exposing underwater drone footage, resulting in three large-scale diver clean-ups and the creation of a city-sponsored Bead Free Bay campaign.
