A supermoon otherwise known as the Worm supermoon will light up the sky this week.
A full moon will appear fully Monday (tonight) but will be visible for a full three days.
According to CNN, "Supermoons occur when the moon is within 90% of perigree, or its closest approach to Earth in orbit. The moon will appear brighter and bigger in the night sky, and hopefully no clouds and inclement weather will obscure the view."
The "Full" moon can go by other names too example:
- Crow moon
- Crust moon
- Sap moon
- Lenten moon
- Sugar moon
All these moons usually signal the arrival of springtime, and the Lenten moon is during the Catholic season of lent.
This year, the spring equinox is happening on March 19th and is arriving the earliest in over a hundred years.
