Stealing From Car Vacuum Machines New Trend In Hillsborough

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio WFLA)-Hillsborough County deputies say they're investigating the theft of cash from car vacuum machines at three area gasoline stations. Investigators say theft from the machines is an emerging crime trend in the Tampa Bay area.

Deputies are investigating three cases of people breaking into the vacuum machines and taking a combined total of almost $900 in loose change. The three locations are the 7-11 on East Fletcher in Tampa, the Circle K on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard in Tampa and the Circle K on Morris Bridge Road in Thonotosassa.

Deputies say the bad guys may be traveling in a white or faded tan work van and a pickup truck with a camper top.
