Tampa, Fla.(NewsRadio WFLA)-The man wanted for shooting a man who was coming to the aid of a woman, the suspect was allegedly beating up, is now in custody after leaving the state.
Edward Nieves was arrested at Orlando International Airport after getting off a flight from Puerto Rico.
It happened about two weeks ago on a Saturday morning around 2:00 am at a 7-eleven on North Dale Mabry.
Police say a man saw Nieves assaulting a woman inside a truck, and when the witness intervened, police say Nieves got out of the truck and shot the witness in the shoulder.
The video shows part of the confrontation and the Nieves driving away in a red pickup truck. The 43-year-old flew to Puerto Rico after the shooting.
